NLEAP recently conducted a workshop on Gender Equality, Women’s Empowerment and Language Rights for the staff of the Department of Languages (DOL). Held at the Mandarina Hotel on the 29th of March the focus of the workshop was to enhance the conceptual understanding amongst DOL staff of gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE) within language rights and to explore with them ways to promote GEWE within language rights.

The participants were warmly welcomed by Mr. Don Brownell, Director, National Languages Equality Advancement Project/NLEAP. Mr. Niyas Raskin, Language Policy and Teaching Specialist/NLEAP then clearly explained the purpose of the workshop.
